Daddyhunt has implemented a one-time age assurance process for all users in the UK. This change complies with the UK’s Online Safety Act and ensures that Daddyhunt remains a safe and secure platform exclusively for adults aged 18 and over — while maintaining strict privacy standards.
Who needs to verify?
All users in the UK — whether creating a new account or returning to the app — must verify that they are at least 18 years old, in accordance with Daddyhunt’s Terms of Use.
How does the process work?
Daddyhunt uses a two-step age verification process:
1. AI-Powered Photo Verification
When creating an account or opening the app, you’re asked to upload a clear selfie. Our system uses Amazon Rekognition’s AI to estimate your age based on the selfie. If you meet the age requirement, you receive immediate confirmation.
2. ID Verification (if required)
If the AI estimates your age as under 20, you’re prompted to upload a valid photo ID. Accepted IDs include:
- Passport
- Driver’s License
- PASS card
We will use your selfie and ID to match and confirm that both belong to the same person.
If the AI result is unclear, a trained human moderator may review your submission to ensure accuracy and fairness.
If your initial attempt fails, try again in a well-lit environment with a stable camera.
Why is this necessary?
This process is required under the UK’s Online Safety Act, which mandates age checks on platforms with adult content to prevent access by minors.
What if I don’t verify?
You can’t access Daddyhunt in the UK without completing age verification.
Is my data secure?
Yes — Daddyhunt is committed to protecting your privacy:
- All data is encrypted.
- Your personal information is never shared with third parties.
- Your ID will be used solely for age verification. It will be securely retained for up to 30 days to support any necessary confirmation. After that, only the result of the verification is kept.
Can I use the web version for age verification?
Age verification is only supported on the mobile app, as it requires camera access to take a selfie. Please download the mobile version from the App Store or Google Play on your phone or tablet to complete the process.
Common ID Verification Issues
If a verification attempt fails, one of the following messages may appear:
- Selfie and ID mismatch
The ID could not be verified because it does not appear to match the submitted selfie. Both images must be clear and belong to the same person. Attempts to verify using someone else’s ID or ID images downloaded from the internet are not permitted and are easily detected. - Unsupported ID type
The ID could not be verified. Only passports, driver’s licences, and PASS cards are accepted. - Expired ID used
The ID could not be verified because it has expired. A valid, unexpired document must be provided. - Low-quality image of ID used
The ID image could not be verified due to poor image quality. A clear, well-lit photo of the document is required for successful verification. - Document for underage member
The verification failed because the person appears to be under 18 years old, which is below the required age to use Daddyhunt.
