I can relate to the writer's question - though to a lesser degree. This can be an issue for me especially if my partner and I have been apart for a while (which happens with our work situations), and I've been getting my erotic charge from porn, or chat rooms, or c2c... But I do always find that when I give myself a porn timeout and allow my sexual response to reset on the man I love, the heat always rises again!
